Your Ultimate Guide to Workout Wear

Going to the gym can get monotonous and tired. On an early rainy morning or after a long day at the office it is hard to get motivated to hit the gym. I have found that having a well-packed gym bag can be reason enough to get myself out of bed or choose to hit the treadmill over happy hour with friends. Working out can be addicting, in a good way; Once you reap the benefits and feel like the best version of yourself, it is hard to stop! If you feel like you spend more time in yoga pants than jeans—or would like to—this is the guide for you.

Run with Lululemon

Training for a half marathon? Full marathon? Taking on trails? The runners of the world endure all climates and weather patterns and it’s important to dress for the occasion. The key to running attire is to layer and look for pieces with vents. My favorite outfitter for my running wardrobe is hands down Lululemon; the brand’s pieces hold you in in the right places and keep you warm on cold runs and cool on hot runs. Try their Tight Stuff Tight which have reflective details placed for visibility in low light and the highrise and compressive waistband which stays in place while you run. The Swifty Tech in long sleeve, short sleeve or tank top is also a must-have layering piece. These tops feature Silverscent® technology which inhibits the growth of odor-causing bacteria. You won’t be restricted from movement in these tops. Choose one of the many color options so when you strip off your top layer, passing cars or bikes can see you. My number-one layering item during the winter months is The Sleet Sprinter Jacket because of its side vents which let out stuffy air but technology to keep your core warm. I have avoided a lot of winter colds because of this jacket. The watch hole on the sleeve makes for easy time checks while training. Lululemon also offers awesome accessories for you runners from headbands to gloves and speed socks. Running is a high. It clears your mind. Its exhilarating and it can be a challenge. With the perfect gear you can chase your goals and improve your performance.

Barre with Sweaty Betty

One of the many things I love about barre is how relaxed and rejuvenated I feel after class. During your 45-60 minutes on the floor you focus on your movements and tuck and let your world slip away. It is important to find comfort in your look so you can get lost while you find your shake! Most barre classrooms have a large mirror so an added motivator is looking great! I happen to love the fun colors and dance-inspired looks from Sweaty Betty. It’s fun to add pops of color or pick fun sports bras which pop out from beneath a tank. These Chandrasana 7/8 Reversible Leggings are a great purchase as you get two adorbale and functional looks for the price of one! Pair with Superior Workout Crop Top which is both a top and a sports bra. If you want full coverage, add in the Improvise Long Sleeve Barre Topat least for warm up.

Yoga with Alo Yoga

The yoga practice is both mental and physical. Getting yourself from one level to the next takes time, patience, and practice. Yoga has many benefits on students lives and is practiced around the world. One of the many things I love about Alo Yoga product is that it can take you from street to studio. They make great warm outerwear pieces you can shed off once inside and leggings that look just as cool in a lotus headstand as they do at brunch. One favorite is the Motto Legging. If you ever have a yogi on your gift list, even if it’s yourself, please take my advice and send them the adorable printed sports bras and graphic tees. Don’t forget the mat!

Spinning with Nike

You have found your favorite studio and you have probably found your favorite instructor and bike in the classroom but have you found the perfect thing to wear? Whether you are spinning at FlyWheel, SoulCycle, or Cycle House, there is one thing I know: you are sweating. Before I strap into the bike I make sure that I am well suited to spin. Try Nike Pro Hypercool training capris for ultimate comfort and sweat absorption. Pick a fun colored top that will pick up your beat just like the music blasting, but like your pants, make sure the top is sweat absorbent. The Nike Dri-FIT Knits are perfect for your next spin class. Stay supported while you turn the torque in the Fierce Sports Bras, which feature contoured compression and mesh for sweaty workout comfort. Nike experts are always on call and easily accessible so don’t be afraid to ask or use the on site Fit-Finder.
