The Fitness Trend You Should Follow, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Fitness trends come and go (80’s step aerobics in spandex—we’re looking at you!) so it can be tough to know which ones are worth trying out. For example, you might be interested in an underwater spin class, but you aren’t sure it’s going to be an exercise you’ll love or can stick with long-term.

Here’s some reassuring news: It’s easy to figure out the wellness path that’s right for you. That’s because it’s already written out there in the universe. All you’ll need to do is consult the stars!

Here’s a look at the fitness trend you’ll want to try out, based on your zodiac sign.

Aries (March 21–April 19): Boxing

Old-school boxing has reemerged in a big way in recent years. As a fierce competitor and adventurer, an Aries won’t be afraid to step in the ring. Fearless at heart, an Aries is always up for trying a workout that might look intimidating to another sign. Boxing workouts involve building up strength and practicing coordination with drills like fast feet. There are different options, such as cardio kickboxing or Piloxing, where you’ll focus on core moves, plus kicking and punching sequences. Or, there are more traditional boxing gyms where you’ll work on a heavy bag or with a partner. Either way, an Aries is sure to be up for the challenge.

Taurus (April 20–May 20): Hiking

As an Earth sign, a Taurus prefers to stay rooted with nature instead of spending time in the gym. Lucky for this grounded sign, workouts where you spend time outdoors, participating in activities like hiking and kayaking, are now considered fantastic ways to get fit. In addition to physical benefits, the Japenese trend of Forest bathing has also stressed the importance of spending time outside as a way to find mental clarity, too.

Gemini (May 21–June 21): Trampoline Class

A Gemini doesn’t like to be bored. This sign constantly needs to be trying something new. A fun-packed trampoline class will be just amusing enough for this sign. Far from the bounce parks you visited as a kid, a trampoline fitness class for adults actually is going to take place on a mini trampoline. However, there’s a lot more to it than just hopping around. An instructor will take you through moves like donkey kicks, squats, and jabbing while you rebound on and off the trampoline. It will be set to high-energy music and the variety is sure to keep a Gemini motivated.

Cancer (June 22–July 22): Yoga with Adrien

Cancers are homebodies who prefer to spend time alone or with family. (They’ll leave the high-energy group classes for other more social signs, thank you very much.) Instead, they’d rather turn on a Youtube workout in the comfort of their living room any day. A Cancer will appreciate the fact that at-home videos have come a long way in recent years. Uber-popular Yoga with Adrien videos will bring the soothing vibes a Cancer needs.

Leo (July 23–Aug. 22): Infrared sauna

Leo is a fire sign and wouldn’t shy away from the heat. They’ll love the fact that infrared saunas are popping up in gyms and spas around the country. After finishing a sweaty workout to build up their inner heat, a Leo will love recovering in an Infrared Sauna. This treatment may offer benefits like detoxification, increased relaxation, and helping to reduce inflammation and pain.

Virgo (Aug. 23–Sept. 22): Versaclimber

Many signs would be intimidated by this complicated looking piece of gym equipment. Meticulous and detail-oriented Virgos, on the other hand, will appreciate it for its complexity. After figuring out the proper technique, a Virgo will be well on their way to using the Versaclimber regularly to get their heart rate up, burn fat, and tone their muscles.

Libra (Sept. 23–Oct. 22): AcroYoga

If a social Libra is going to exercise, they need to do it with a buddy. AcroYoga is nothing new. Acro classes are still trending, though, because they are a way to challenge up your stability and strength and break out of your usual yoga routine. Working and laughing with a buddy, air-sign Libras will love practicing flying poses and the teamwork that comes from this challenging workout.

Scorpio (Oct. 23–Nov. 21): Caveman fitness

A Scorpio craves intensity. Caveman fit training is designed to be high-intensity, so it will fit the bill. A Scorpio will love striking with a sledgehammer, practicing bear crawls on the ground, and gaining primal strength through powerful moves like pull-ups and rock swings.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22–Dec. 21): Pound!

A Sagittarius is an explorer who loves to travel and be on the move. They’ll enjoy a global-inspired, rhythmic movement class like Pound. It’s an infectious exercise routine with weighted drumsticks set to high-energy music. A Sag will love building up their heart rate up while having fun and moving to the tunes.

Capricorn (Dec. 22–Jan. 19): Functional training

A Capricorn is one of the most practical signs. So they’ll love the idea of functional training, a form of exercise where you train and build up strength to perform everyday activities. In a functional training workout, you’ll practice moves like pulling, pushing and pressing. As a result, you’ll be stronger and more limber when lifting heavy groceries, carrying around your kids, and even when playing sports. As a Capricorn would say, it makes sense, right?

Aquarius (Jan. 20–Feb. 18): Ariel hoop

An Aquarius is an air sign and a free spirit. That’s why they’ll fit right in during an Ariel hoops class. Suspended from the ceiling, an Aquarius will love practicing strength, balance, and flexibility as they swing and flip in the air. After mastering the hoop, they’ll be ready to move on to other thrilling circus arts like flying trapeze and silks.

Pisces (Feb. 19–March 20): Aqua cycle

A Pisces feels most at home in the water. They also can be creative and a bit sensitive. So they’ll love the soothing, low-impact workout of aqua cycling. After entering the pool and hopping on a bike, they can be alone in their thoughts and enjoy the fluidity they’ll find in the flow of peddling in the water.
