What could be better than combining a *healthy* dessert with all those extra mason jars you have lying around? It’s a beautiful marriage of style and sweet tooth. Experiencing a flourish of hipster inspiration – or “hipso,” as I like to call it – I set out to curate the ultimate compendium of dessert-in-a-jar recipes.
My selection criteria was a three-point rubric: healthy, delicious, and no-bake.
Healthy because indulging in dessert doesn’t have to mean throwing all dietary caution to the wind. You can still enjoy post-supper sweets without completely going off the rails (I’m talking to myself here, folks).
Delicious because duh.
No-bake because in the kitchen, I’m a big fan of the KISS method – keep it simple, stupid – in large part because my cooking skills are a work in progress (translation: not good). Thus, I’ve vetted these recipes for ease of achievability and minimal cleanup.

Blueberry Lemon Cheesecake Trifles
I’m not typically a fan of lemon – except, that is, when combined with two of my favorite things: blueberries and cheesecake. This recipe from A Bitchin’ Kitchen literally made me drool. In my opinion, cheesecake is the best dessert of all-time. The benefit to making it from scratch is that you can control the quality of ingredients and portion size. Plus, fresh blueberries are a superfood – in addition to being a succulent source of sugar – and it doesn’t get much healthier than that.
Almond Joy Overnight Oats
This Almond Joy-esque overnight oats recipe from Catherine over at Rabbit Food for my Bunny Teeth is probably the most wholesome on the list. (Her weight loss journey is incredible btw.) I love that it serves one – perfect for single life or just a solo #treatyoself expedition. With ingredients like flaxseed, almond milk, and vegan chocolate chips, it’s as nutritious as it is delicious. You might even try it for a sweet and satisfying breakfast. You know what they say – candied oats, the breakfast of champions!
Mini Peanut Butter Cups in a Jar
I’m aware peanut butter cups don’t scream healthy, but this Oh She Glows mini PB cups recipe is a straight up turmeric shot compared to less fastidious versions on the Interwebs. This recipe is vegan, and it’s “mini” by design – to keep portion size in check. It uses tofu for the filling, as well as coconut oil in the crust and shell, without sacrificing taste. Whoever said you can’t have it all?
Key Lime Pie in a Jar
Okay, I’ll admit, the healthiness factor of key lime pie is debatable. However, as far as desserts go, you could do A LOT worse – and it is a quintessential offering. If your taste buds fancy the refreshing flavor of key lime, this pie-in-a-jar recipe via A Million Moments will hit the spot without breaking the caloric bank.
Vegan Chocolate Pudding with Whipped Coconut Cream
I’d be remiss not to include a chocolate pudding, especially when there’s such a lean, full-bodied iteration just a click away. This scrumptious chocolate pudding recipe from Baked Bree takes a mere 10 minutes to make. The coconut “whipped cream” topping is a delectable treat in and of itself. Plus, it manages to score for both teams: dairy free AND rich and creamy. It’s an unfathomable feat, and I don’t know how they do it successfully, yet here we are…
Vegan Strawberry Cheesecakes in a Jar
I had to include another cheesecake because a) strawberry is classic cheesecake and we must pay our respects to the OG AND b) as a vegetarian and former vegan, I understand how important it is to include recipes that cater to those dietary restrictions. However, beware: This strawberry cheesecake recipe from SoFabFun is so delicious, vegans and non-vegans alike won’t be able to resist. Consider yourself warned.
